Our approach to investment

Operating as a truly independent adviser, we are not constrained or blinkered by any preconceptions about what investments are right for you. We consult with each client to understand their aims, concerns and preferences. Client portfolios will typically contain a wide range of investments suited to your objectives and Attitude to Investment Risk.

Portfolios for most clients are constructed to deliver returns that comfortably beat cash, but with a lower volatility than pure stock market investments. The overall aim is to keep your money growing well during the good years, but with a reduced chance of big setbacks in years when stock or bond markets perform badly.

Our process of regular review meetings ensures that your portfolio remains appropriate in the light of changing markets and fresh investment opportunities. Crucially, these reviews also help us to reshape your investment mix as your own circumstances evolve, responding to new priorities or to changes in lifestyle.


The steps to future confidence:

1. Getting to know each other
We meet with prospective clients in person at outset. This meeting is held at our expense, and is used to build a picture of your Ideal Lifestyle.

This isn’t a sales meeting; the whole purpose of this meeting is to understand where you are today and where you’re trying to get to.

At the end of this meeting, if we feel it is appropriate, we will invite you to the next stage — if you don’t feel we can help then “no hard feelings” there is no further obligation. If we don’t believe we can be of service, we may be able to refer you to somebody who we think will be a better match.

2. Analysis and planning
At the next stage, we take a fully considered look at your financial position and present a high-level plan of action for achieving your Ideal Lifestyle.

During the meeting, we create a number of ‘what-if’ scenarios, stress testing your financial plan to make sure that it’s robust and provides you with the financial peace of mind you deserve.

In this session, we will work together to answer your most challenging questions, such as:

  • Are my finances secure?
  • When can I afford to retire?
  • How do I make sure I don’t run short of money in retirement?
  • How can I ensure my partner/spouse is taken care of should I pass away first?
  • How can I fund my elderly parent’s long-term care needs or my children’s education?

3. Implementation
Implementation is where we work together to bridge the gap between planning and action.

4. Staying on track
Once you are up and running you will receive a comprehensive financial plan that’s designed to get you on track for achieving your Financial Freedom.
